Prayers for Bardic Inspiration
Intoning the Awen
Chief Liturgist: “Without the spark of Inspiration, human life would be dull.
Without the richness of Inspiration, human life would be poor.
Without the fires of inspiration, human life would be cold.
Divine Inspiration is the kernel at the heart of all art; welling from the depths, burning in our veins, forged by our will.”
Bard: “The Awen I sing, from the depths I bring it.
Awen, sacred word, embodiment of inspiration, uniting the Land and the Sky within us through its holy sound. Power of inspiration, attend to us; Come into our hearts' shrine. Guide our rite in the way of truth.
O power of inspiration in this holy place, O power of inspiration at this holy time. “
The drum is struck x3 and the Bard leads the Folk in one intonation of the Awen. Repeat drum & intonation 2 more times.
